James started his career with Ulster Bank in 1988, where he specialized in real estate finance, managing a portfolio of €1BN. He spent 2 years at ACC/RaboBank overseeing new business from 2002, generating €0.50BN.
In 2004, James joined Anglo Irish Bank in Dublin transferring to London in 2006 as an Associate Director with a specific focus on new business development where he managed a book of £2.5BN. Following the downturn in 2008, James’ focus was on restructuring and workouts where as Deputy Head of Asset Recovery he managed the resolution of £2.0BN of loans up to the end of 2012. Thereafter he joined Kennedy Wilson Europe, previously a FTSE 250 real estate firm, where he was a key player in their NPL acquisition and workout team acquiring loans in excess of €1BN covering the Irish, UK and Spanish markets. He had responsibility for their senior debt financing of €1.3BN of direct property and loan purchases.
